A-U-T-H-E-N-T-I-C-I-T-Y “Authenticity”

Defined as: “Reliability, dependability, trustworthiness, credibility, accuracy, truth, veracity, fidelity”

These are all very important words when it comes to developing relationships and maintaining them.  However, we are each uniquely wired to have our own version of these words, based on our experiences and past relationships.

Trying to remain authentic, upon learning about myself/yourself, is what I’m talking about.  Based on my own choices in life, I have my version of what each of these words mean to me and, indeed, they are important, but we all may perceive these words a little differently, and this is what makes life interesting and perhaps challenging.

Each one of us grows and learns at a different rate and, at the end of the day, if you’re willing to love yourself because you’re being honest with yourself about your own version of these words, then you’re off to a good start!  I don’t know all the answers, but I have questions that I’d like to answer, and both you and I, can hopefully be impacted positively.

For today, try looking in the mirror and telling yourself that you are being your authentic self. If that feels awkward, then perhaps you’re not being honest with yourself.  No one else needs to know, but you may have some things you want to work on to live authentically.  Together, let’s take this journey and find our authentic selves!
